The forward acceleration remains at a constant value of zero as the car ascends the lift hill. Once the first drop is encountered, the acceleration becomes positive. Whenever the elevation of the track is decreasing, the acceleration is positive. When the track elevation is increasing, the acceleration is negative. A small negative acceleration is found in the brake run.
